Tim Hetherington, one of our era’s great photojournalists, has a stunning new show up at Yossi Milo Gallery in New York. Unfortunately, Tim died last year while covering Lybia’s revolution. The show up now captures American soldiers in Afghanistan while they sleep. In their sleep, which Hetherington said, was often helped along by drugs, he wanted to show a side of the US soldier as they must seem to their mothers “innocent, vulnerable, and, in their turned off minds at least, somewhere very far away from the war.”
Yossi Milo Gallery, 245 Tenth Ave, NY, NY 10001. Show up from April 12-May 19.
